Who are we? Who are we? Safecount is a leading online technology company that enables advertisers, researchers and media companies to understand the effectiveness of online advertising and marketing programs. In order to do this, we use information collected from multiple websites. What do we do with our cookies? What is a cookie and how does it work? A cookie is a small piece of data that is sent to your computer’s Internet browser and stored on your computer's hard drive. Safecount’s Technology uses cookies to keep track of the types of online ads you see and the number of times you see those ads. Unless you’ve opted-out, every time you see an advertisement that Safecount is measuring, a cookie will be set or recognised by your browser, and the cookie will record your interactions with those advertisements. What data do we collect? Safecount’s Technology does NOT collect any Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”). Through our cookie, we capture standard web traffic information such as time, date, IP address and browser. Our cookies do not contain any PII, nor do they contain any information (such as a unique identification number) that could be used to identify you personally. Through our cookie, as noted above, we capture ads you’ve seen, where and how many times you’ve seen the ad. Through your panel membership, you may be asked to participate in our online surveys. As always, your participation is voluntary and we will use survey results for research purposes only.
Safecount provides the data to Dynamic Logic, an independent research company, which analyse marketing effectiveness campaigns through surveys. All data collected is grouped together and analysed as a whole - in the aggregate. Your identity will never be attached to a specific piece of information or response. In the analysis we provide to clients we do not say James Smyth from Manchester, but we say XYZ. Where are all the data stored? All data is stored in the USA. Safecount abides by the EU Safe Harbour framework as set forth by the Department of Commerce regarding collections, use, and retention of data from the European Union. Are the data shared with anyone else? We do not rent, sell, or release data without your consent. You are providing it to our organisation only, and we do not assume that we have your permission to provide it to any other organisation or company without your consent. What security measures does Safecount take? Safecount uses the latest industry standards in its efforts to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of your data through the use of a firewall and password protection systems. Our security and Privacy Policy are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary. Unfortunately though, you should understand that "perfect security" does not exist on the Internet. How can you opt-out? If you do not want Safecount to set a cookie to your browser, you may opt out by going to this page. If you choose this option, Safecount will never set a cookie to your browser again as long as you are using the same browser. Safecount transparency policy If you would like to know what information is associated with Your Safecount cookie, please click here to visit our cookie viewer. If you do not have a Safecount cookie, our cookie viewer can tell you that, too. This statment was last updated on August 16, 2011 |
